ANNUAL REPORT
2010 Goals and Accomplishments
- Continue using and promoting the use of the Comprehensive Plan in our decisions and policy-making.
We continue to use and recommend use of the Comprehensive Plan in promoting local government decision making and zoning regulations.
- Continue to review farmland preservation issues.
We continually keep up-to-date on farmland preservation issues through magazines, flyers, the Internet and informational meetings.
- Continue to administer and promote Enterprise Zone Agreements, CRA’s and TIF’s promoting investment and job creation and retention for the continued economic growth of Shelby County.
Enterprise Zones are becoming a thing of the past. We continue to work with the City and Villages on economic incentives.
- Implement the CDBG-Formula-09 Grant for roof and sunroom replacement at Fair Haven.
Project complete.
- Continue to review Wind Turbine Zoning in other areas of Ohio and be prepared to assist townships if requested. Also, keep up on current activity concerning zoning of large confinement operations.

- Continue to improve and maintain our public relations and open door policy.

2011 Goals

- Implement the CDBG-Formula-10 Grant for sewage plant update at Arrowhead and street repaving for McCartyville Road in VanBuren Township.
- Continue to review Wind Turbine Zoning in other areas of Ohio and be prepared to assist townships if requested. Also, keep up on current activity concerning zoning of large confinement operations.
- Continue to improve and maintain our public relations and open door policy.

Continue to review the need for updating the County Subdivision Regulations in partnership with the County Engineer and County Commissioners.
- Apply for the CDBG-Formula-11 and the CHIP-11 Grant.
- Successfully implement and administer the completion our CHIP-09 in 2011.
- Continue to work with the County Engineer, Auditors Office, Treasurers Office, and Recorders Office to update and perfect the County G.I.S. and prepare for and review other uses such as zoning.
- Review Flood Plain regulation for Shelby County and be prepared to update when new FEMA maps are ready. FEMA has put Shelby County on hold due to funding.
- Work closely and diligently with West Ohio Development Council and businesses to help inspire the economy and promote job preparedness programs locally.
- Review possibilities for creating new and/or more revenue for Regional Planning to replace loss of revenue from Enterprise Zone Agreements expiring and being cancelled
