Cigarette Licenses
A cigarette dealer’s license is obtained in the County Auditor’s office. The fee is thirty dollars ($30.00). To obtain the cigarette license, you must also have a county vendor’s license. The license is only valid at one specified location in the county.
The license can be transferred, in the event that a business has moved or the business has sold. A license can be transferred for a fee of one dollar ($1.00), by filing an application with the County Auditor.
Cigarette licenses are to be displayed near the product being sold for easy inspection. All cigarettes sold in Ohio must be sold in a face-to-face transaction. If cigarettes are being sold in your place of business and you do not have a cigarette license, please contact your local County Auditor’s office.
